Types of Australian Visas You Should Know

  1. Visitor Visa (subclass 600): This visa allows you to enter Australia temporarily for tourism or business purposes.

  2. Student Visa (subclass 500): All student visa applications must be submitted online via ImmiAccount.

  3. Transit Visa (subclass 771): All transit visa applications must be submitted online via ImmiAccount.

  4. Medical Treatment Visa (subclass 602): All medical treatment visa applications must be submitted online via ImmiAccount.

  5. Fiancé/Partner/De Facto Visa:

    • De Facto Partner Visa (subclasses 309/100 and 820/801)
    • Fiancé/Spouse Visa (subclass 300)

    These applications must be submitted via ImmiAccount.

  6. Child Immigration Visa:

    • Child Visa (subclass 101)
    • Adoption Visa (subclass 102)
    • Orphan Relative Visa (subclass 117)

    Applicants must submit documents directly to: Department of Home Affairs Child and Other Family Processing Centre

  7. Temporary Work (Short Stay) Visa (subclass 400): This visa is for applicants who wish to:

    • Undertake work for organizations or individuals established in Australia;
    • Engage in retail trade or services to the general public.
  8. Other Family Immigration Visas:

    • Dependent Parent Visa (subclass 114)
    • Remaining Relatives Visa (subclass 115)
    • Carer Visa (subclass 116)
  9. Returning Resident Visa: This visa (subclasses 155 and 157) is for permanent residents or Australian citizens who have been outside Australia for an extended period. It allows you to leave and return to Australia as a permanent resident.

  10. Australian Citizenship by Descent:

  • Working Holiday Visa: All applicants for the Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417) (both first and second-time applicants)
  • All applicants for the Working Holiday Visa (subclass 462) (excluding applicants from China)
  • All applicants for the second-time Working Holiday Visa
