AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT APPROVES INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS' RETURN TO SOUTH AUSTRALIA

South Australia will be the first state to bring international students back after the country closed its borders due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with plans to start receiving students from August 2021.

Students will have to quarantine for 2 weeks and undergo daily coronavirus testing at a government-approved location at the Adelaide Airport in Parafield, located in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, with a capacity of 160 students.

The NSW student arrival plan is also under consideration and will be approved soon.

However, students and educational institutions will also need to pay for flights and quarantine costs.

Universities and educational institutions in South Australia are planning to support international students and will update details in the coming weeks.

The federal government has approved the plan allowing non-Australian students to return to the country.

This plan will not affect the return of Australian citizens, as students will not count towards the state’s international arrivals limit.
