Langara College is a public college recognized as one of Canada's top post-secondary institutions for university transfer programs. Established in 1965 as part of Vancouver Community College, it became an independent public college under the College and Institute Act in 1994.

Langara College offers a variety of programs for students wishing to study English, transfer to university, or pursue vocational education.
Langara English for Academic Purposes (LEAP): A comprehensive program designed to prepare international students for university-level study. Upon completion of LEAP, students are accepted directly into university transfer programs at Langara. The program has six intakes per year.
University Transfer Programs: Students complete a two-year program before transferring their completed credits to university. Transfer agreements are in place with universities in British Columbia (UBC, Simon Fraser University, and the University of Victoria) through the BC Council on Admissions and Transfer. Students can transfer credits to other colleges and universities in North America and worldwide. The program starts in Fall, Spring, and Summer.
