SEVIS Fee
(Additional fee for all students applying for F, J, and M visas)

SEVIS

(Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) I-901 Fee

The I-901 fee is a mandatory fee established by Congress to support the automated student and exchange visitor management system, ensuring that they reside legally in the United States. Every student or exchange visitor issued their first I-20 or DS-2019 form on or after September 1, 2004, is required to pay this fee before applying for a visa. Additionally, the visa officer must verify the applicant’s active electronic record in the SEVIS database before issuing an F, J, or M visa. SEVIS forms and electronic certification also apply to family members entering the U.S. on F-2, M-2, or J-2 visas. Applicants sponsored by the U.S. government are exempt from paying the SEVIS fee if their program code begins with the letter G. Most students and exchange visitors returning to the U.S. to continue their studies are not required to pay the SEVIS fee.

The SEVIS fee is 200 USD for students (F/M) and 180 USD for exchange visitors (J1). All applicants required to pay the SEVIS fee must complete the I-901 form. Applicants should bring the SEVIS fee receipt to their visa interview. For instructions on how to pay the SEVIS fee, please visit the official SEVIS I-901 website, click vào đây. For more general information about SEVIS fees, please refer to the website SEVIS

Note: Any applicant who arrives for an interview but has not paid the SEVIS fee will not be permitted to attend the interview and will be required to return to the Consulate at a later time with proof of payment of the SEVIS fee.
